Rat in the Kitchen: Here's What I Went and Doneposted on 7 June 2012 | posted in Rat and Mouse Pest News
UB40 once sang "there's a rat in the kitchen what I'm a gonna do?" - well here's what I did when I discovered the evidence of rats in my hotel kitchen (rat droppings) - rat repellants. It was a real shock to see we had a rodent problem in our kitchen. Scenes of Faulty Towers went through my mind, and then even more sinister images of hotel inspectors giving low hygiene grades came into my head too. I had to do something, FAST. Luckily the rat repellants did the job instantly - the next day, we found no evidence of rats at all and a pest control company we contact did their own inspection too, and gave us the thumbs up. My advice to anyone is to be on the lookout for signs of a rodent infestation - don't expect a rat to be sitting on your work surface - they're sneaky and often nocturnal, so you need to keep a keen eye on any rodent-signs!
